Glucagon

ADULT:

Blood Sugar < 60 mg%, or 60-80 mg% and Symptomatic:

1 mg IM (chart site), Once SO

PEDS:

Blood Sugar < 60 mg%, or 60-80 mg% and Symptomatic:

0.5 mg IM (chart site), once SO (Newborn - 14 years)

INDICATIONS:

- Blood glucose < 60 mg%

- Blood glucose between 60-80 mg% and symptomatic

- Suspected hypoglycemia, and unable to establish an IV

CAUTIONS:

- Use only dilutent provided

- May exacerbate neurologic injuries in pts. with CVAs, full arrest or head trauma
